One catalogue, one scale: a 9 means the same for a game, a novel or a graphics card
A reviews and ratings site that brings ten categories — games, film, TV, anime, books, comics, albums, songs, hardware and devices — into a single catalogue held to one ten-point scale. Editorial and reader scores are kept apart, always with the number of ratings behind them, and every entry names the sources its facts come from. A free account lets you rate, build lists and follow other readers.

Review sites specialise: one score for games in one place, another for films somewhere else and a third for the hardware you play them on, each on its own scale and none of them comparable. The job was to build a catalogue that held ten kinds of media to the same standard, and that did not feed on data scraped from other sites.
We built a custom web application on Next.js with a catalogue fed by official APIs and openly licensed datasets, recording where every fact came from on its entry. Two scores that never merge (editorial and reader), search across titles, people and studios with filters by category, genre, platform and year, head-to-head comparisons, new releases, reader lists, a graph of connections between creators and comments moderated before they appear. Deployed behind Cloudflare on hosting we manage.

What happened to Voxizer after launch
Credibility is the product. On a ratings site the question is always "says who?": here every entry answers with its sources, every average says how many ratings hold it up, and the editorial score is never diluted by the readers'. That is what makes a 9 mean the same thing across all ten categories.
